Hey Everyone, My name is Kasey. I'm a 23 year old wife to my wonderful husband.
We have a 4 year old little boy who is amazing in his own way. He struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder and speech delays. But he is perfect to us.
We are pregnant with our second son and could not be more excited. He will be arriving in Late July or Early August. Whenever he decides he is ready.
We live in a quiet neighborhood and have 2 rowdy cats.
I love my life and my family. I would not change anything that I have.
I am in the middle of studies on becoming a Doula. I am a major birth junkie. I love hearing and reading birth stories. My personal birth story is a upsetting one. And I will be posting it soon.
I love supporting families in whatever their choice is to give birth. I have attended a range of births from home birth transfers, birthing center births, hospital birth with a cesarean section, and an unassisted home birth. I am willful to learn more and support these families in whatever they choose for their birth experience. And if things don't go as planned, I support them through the grieving process of the birth that they desired.

I am a major breastfeeding advocate. I believe all babies deserve their own mother milk. I believe that formula companies have major marketing ploys that lie to mothers and say their products are
"Just as close to mothers milk" Close meaning "We are as close to the sun as ever" Their products will never be "Close" to mothers breastmilk. I can't stand when people judge mothers nursing in public but it is perfectly fine for bottle feeding mothers to feed their babies wherever they want. It is the same thing.
I do not judge mothers who choose not to breastfeed, But I do wish more mothers put forth the effort to just TRY.
I am an activist for Genital Integrity. I believe that all children, boys and girls have a right to Intact genitals.
Until 1997 Female circumcision was legal. It is now outlawed. Why is this not the case for our boys? 100-200 baby boys die each year from this surgery. Before I was educated on this subject, I subjected MY SON at 4 months old to this barbaric procedure. There is nothing I want more than to take back allowing it to be done. He now suffer's because of my ignorance.

If I can educate just 1 mother/father or person about circumcision. Then I can forgive myself for my ignorance. The more you know about circumcision, the worse it gets. If you want to learn more, I can send you information that will help you decide what you would like to do.
I am a MAJOR car seat junkie. I love helping parents find the right seat for their children. 8 out of 10 car seats are installed and used incorrectly. That saddens me. Car seats are the number 1 killer of children under the age of 10. People put more time into getting the nursery colors picked out than they do about what car seat they will use and how to properly use them. The right car seat for your child is one that fits THEM properly. Car seats are investments and should not be put on the back burner. If you can't afford a car seat, then you probably should rethink the other items you buy that aren't needed. You can spend hundreds of dollars on accessories like strollers, bouncers, swings and such, But you can't fork out $100-$300 for a seat that will last you 6 years, Or 8 if you own a Diono or new Britax seat.
If you need help with your car seat, I promise, I will take time out of whatever I am doing to help you. Ask any of my friends. I will drop whatever I am doing to help you. I also stalk craigslist to find expired seats and try to get them off the streets.
I am OBSESSED with cloth diapers. My son was in disposables from birth until 13 months old. I was helped out by The Cloth Diaper Foundation and got enough diapers to start CDing full time. I was super excited. Very quickly it turned into an obsession. Sadly, by 19 months he was ready to start using the potty. By 25 months he was dry at night. Our new baby will be cloth diapered from birth. I still help as many people I can get started with cloth diapers. I have a group called "Cloth Diaper Help and Advice" Come join us if you cloth diaper or need help starting.
I have done a whole 360 after my son was born. I want everything natural and green. I have since switched to cloth diapers, unpaper towels, mama cloth, venturing into family cloth, and I only use chemical free cleaners. I recycle like crazy and trying to stop buying processed foods.
I am doing things every day to make our lives more healthy and to help others.
